For types where the angle below the ear is large and prominent, the angle is designed higher in a long curve, helping improve the side profile into a smooth facial shape without an angular contour.
For cases developed from the square jaw below the ear to the chin, making the chin appear less defined from the front, the long curve is extended to the chin for reduction, helping create a slimmer look from the front as well.
When the square jaw is generally developed, the cortical bone is often also thick. Additional cortical bone reduction can help create a slimmer V-line from the front, 45-degree angle, and side.
